The tanchoi is one of the most soft and lustrous type of Banaras saree. With its distinctive patterns, predominantly paisleys and intricately woven floral vines, the borders largely have criss cross designs to perfectly complement the complex nature of the body.
Minor irregularities are a hallmark of genuine handcrafted ware.
Colour: Gold, Orange and Green
Technique:The age old craft of weaving Tanchoi fabric was brought into India from China in the 19th century. The weave of a tanchoi, further adapted by skilled Banaras weavers, is more often woven with colourful weft silk yarn. The resulting two tones feel lends an appearance of the design being inlaid and embossed into each saree, heightening its luminous and enchanting nature.
Fabric: Pure Katan Silk
